We made a day of it...

Cora and I went to the "Creatures in the Cold" class at the OC zoo today.  She had a ton of fun!  The class started with some information about polar bears and reindeer.  The kids painted Santa backpacks, made felt mice ornaments and a tree hanging with "all the animal friends" as Cora referred to them =).  In between crafts the kids were introduced to three different animals (an owl, weasel, and a beaver) and got an up close encounter with them.  Cora pet the animals, but preferred to observe =).

Craft time! =)

Top:  Raspberry the weasel.  She was full grown!
Bottom Left:  Betty the beaver was adorable.
Bottom Right:  Cora brushing Dora the goat.

After the class we wandered the zoo for a bit and ended up spending a good chunk of time with the goats in the petting zoo area.  Cora was very eager to get in and brush the goats' hair.  She was drawn to Dora, a very chill goat.  =)  The baby goat decided to chew on my shirt and I was reminded of why I am not a fan of this section of the zoo ;)

We didn't see many other animals because Cora was very excited to eat lunch =D.  Our little grub monster is always eager for food...especially a lunch she helped pack!  We found a nice spot to picnic by the "duckies" in the lake.

YUM!!!  Food!! =)

Lunch was awesome!  Now it's time to go for a walk to visit the duckies!

After lunch we went a wandering.  Cora decided to find a spot in the middle of the trail to watch the ducks and borrowed my camera to take some fancy photos of her own =)

Playing peek-a-boo with the biggest leaf ever. =)

Left:  Stomping down the stairs waving her arms.  Cora is using her magic to turn everything into an icy wonderland.
Right:  Because she turned everything into an icy wonderland, she can now ice skate, just like Anna and Elsa =)

Our wandering took us though the playground and to the train station.  We splurged and went for a ride on the almost empty train.  Someone LOVED the tunnel of lights and wondered how much it cost to just ride through the tunnel over and over =).  One day we'll attempt the Christmas train...maybe when she's older.

Train fun =)

Exploring the Christmas trees at the tree farm and ready to pay for one with used train tickets ;)
