Yesterday was Cora's yearly visit with the allergist. Matt and I were hoping for the good news that she outgrew her allergies and Cora was excited to bring her wheelie backpack (thanks Auntie Kimi & Uncle Andy) and practice Dr. Liao's name (Doctor Lilo!). After 10 little pricks on the back and a long time waiting with an itchy little munchkin, the results were in. The good news...Cora is no longer allergic to rice!!! The not so good news...Cora is now allergic to many different nuts, pecans and walnuts being the worst with peanuts and almonds not far behind. The doctor prescribed an epipen which we have now been educated on and carry with us wherever Cora goes. Hopefully we'll never have to use it.
While we have to continue to be mindful of what our little garbage disposal eats, the awesome side of things is that she can now enjoy all the yummy rice filled goodies that she's been deprived of for the last year of her life =) We celebrated with dolmades and spanish rice yesterday =). Next on the list...every Asian restaurant in a 5 mile radius ;).
